Swine Trichinella Antibody Rapid Test
Short Introduction
Swine infection with trichinella trichinalis is mainly caused by eating uncooked swill containing trichinella trichinella, waste meat residues and scraps, which are mainly found in grazing pigs.
Pigs with mild infection often have no symptoms and carry insects, or have mild enteritis. Severe infection, elevated temperature, dysentery, bloody stool; Sometimes vomiting, loss of appetite, rapid wasting, death about half a month, or turn chronic.
The Trichinella Antibody Rapid Test is a lateral flow immunochromatographic assay for the qualitative detection of Trichinella spiralis Antibody (TRI Ab) in pig's serum, or plasma specimen.
Principle
The Trichinella Antibody Rapid Test is based on sandwich lateral flow immunochromatographic assay. The test device has a testing window for the observation of assay running and result reading. The testing window has an invisible T (test) zone and a C (control) zone before running the assay. When the treated sample was applied into the sample hole on the device, the liquid will laterally flow through the surface of the test strip and react with the pre-coated Trichinella antigens. If there are anti-Trichinella antibodies in the specimen, a visible T line will appears. The C line should always appear after a sample is applied, which indicates a valid result. By this means, the device can accurately indicate the presence of Trichinella antibodies in the specimen.
Test Procedure
- Collect pig's fresh whole blood, serum or plasma specimen for use. Immediately apply the testing once collected the specimen.
- Take out the test device from the foil pouch and place it horizontally.
- Place 1 drop (approx. 20μL) of serum or plasma specimen into an assay buffer tube. Mix well and directly use in the assay.
- Place 2-3 drops of assay buffer into the sample hole of the test card.
- Interpret the result in 5-10 minutes. Result after 10 minutes is considered as invalid.
Interpretation Of Result
- Positive (+): The presence of both "C" line and zone "T" line, no matter T line is clear or vague.
- Negative (-): Only clear C line appear. No T line.
- Invalid: No colored line appears in C zone. No matter if T line appears.
