Canine rotavirus infection is quite common in dogs. Sick dogs and latent virus-carrying dogs are the main source of infection. The main route of transmission is the digestive tract, and puppies are the most seriously affected.
Puppies often show sudden onset, diarrhea, yellow-green porridge-like feces, and occasionally a small amount of blood in the anus contaminated by feces. During the entire onset process, the sick dog's appetite and spirit were slightly worse, which was different from other viral infections and could provide a preliminary diagnosis for the clinic. If there is no secondary infection, it will gradually recover in about a week. Once there is secondary infection by bacteria or other viruses, the condition will be significantly aggravated, severe dehydration will occur, body temperature will drop, heart rate will increase, and the outcome will be death.
The clinical symptoms of adult dogs are not obvious, mostly subclinical infection.
