Felivet FPV-FHV-FCV Ab Test
Feline Panleukopenia Virus (FPV), Feline Herpes Virus (FHV) and Feline Calici Virus (FCV) are recognized as important causes of illness and death in cats. Kittens are most susceptible to FPV, FHV and FCV, especially after weaning when protective Maternally Derived Antibody (MDA) levels decrease. Sometimes MDA may actually interfere with vaccinations that are given for immunization. In many countries, vaccination programs have significantly curtailed, but not eliminated the incidence of these diseases. Thus, FPV, FHV and FCV continue to be of great clinical concern among veterinarians worldwide and still present a diagnostic challenge.
Principle
The Felivet FPV-FHV-FCV Ab Test is based on sandwich lateral flow immunochromatographic assay. The test card has a testing window for the observation of assay running and result reading. The testing window has an invisible T (test) zone and a C (control) zone before running the assay. When the treated sample was applied into the sample hole on the device, the liquid will laterally flow through the surface of the test strip and react with the pre-coated FPV-FHV-FCV recombinant antigens. If there are FPV-FHV-FCV antibodies in the specimen, the corresponding T line will appear. The C line should always appear after a sample is applied, which indicates a valid result. By this means, the device can indicate the presence of FPV-FHV-FCV antibodies in the specimen.

Test procedure
(Qualitative: get the result by "nake eye" directly)
Allow all materials, including samples and test equipment, to be restored to 15-25°C before running the assay.
Take the test device out of the aluminum foil bag and place it horizontally.
Drop 1 drop of serum or plasma sample into the sample hole "S" of the test device, and then drop 2 drops of buffer.
Interpret the results within 10 minutes. The result after 15 minutes is considered invalid.

(Quantitative: with Reader)
- 1. Press and hold the white start button for 2 ~ 3 seconds to start the machine
- 2. Put the calibration curve card into the card reading area
- 3. Place the VETDiagnostix test card on the side
- 4. Read the display results
INTERPRETATION OF RESULTS
Read by the Standard color card
- The presence of "C" line indicates a valid result. Read the result by comparing the color intensity of the "T" line with the standard color reference scale (from "G1" to "G6").
- The titers of FPV-FHV-FCV antibodies are corresponding with the color intensity grades.
- Positive (+): The presence of both "C" line and zone "T" line. T line at G3 is considered as standard positive. T line < G3, is weak positive and indicates low FPV-FHV-FCV antibody level. T line around G4-G5, is strong positive. T line > G6, is very strong positive, indicates a contact with virus recently or in infection.
- Negative (-): Clear C line appears. No T line, or T line is weaker than G1. It indicates very low FPV-FHV-FCV titer. Failed immunization may happen.
- Invalid: No colored line appears in C zone.
Read by the Reader
- The presence of "C" line indicates a valid result. Read the result by Rapid Test Reader. Clear C line appears and no T line or T line is very weaker which Rapid Test Reader Results ≤20, indicating that it's very low or no FPV or FHV or FCV titer. Failed immunization may happen. It should be vaccinated immediately.
- 20<Results≤40, indicating that the FPV or FHV or FCV antibody level is low to provide protective immunity. It is recommended to vaccinate within one week.
- 40<Results≤80, indicating that the FPV or FHV or FCV antibody level is normal. It is recommended to continue to monitor the change of antibody titer within one month.
- 80<Results≤160, indicating that the FPV or FHV or FCV antibody level is slightly higher than the base line of protective immunity. It is recommended to continue to monitor the change of antibody titer within three months.
- 160<Results≤320, indicating that the FPV or FHV or FCV antibody level is higher than the base line of protective immunity. It is recommended to continue to monitor the change of antibody titer within six months.
- Results≥320, indicating that the FPV or FHV or FCV antibody level is very higher than the base line of protective immunity. It is recommended to continue to monitor the change of antibody titer within one year.
- Invalid: No colored line appears in the C line, even if a line appears in the T line. It indicates that incorrect operation may happen and the test result is invalid. Repeat the test with a new test device.
