Leishmania -- a zoonotic disease. It can infect not only dogs and cats, but also humans and other mammals.
The Canivet LSH Ab Test is a test cassette to diagnose the presence of Leishmania canis antibody (LSH Ab) in dog's serum, plasma and whole blood specimen.
 

 

 

Principle

Principle

The Canivet LSH Ab Test is based on sandwich lateral flow immunochromatographic assay. The test card has a testing window for the observation of assay running and result reading. The testing window has an invisible T (test) zone and a C (control) zone before running the assay. When the treated sample was applied into the sample hole on the device, the liquid will laterally flow through the surface of the test strip and react with the pre-coated Leishmania recombinant antigens. If there are Leishmania antibodies in the specimen, a visible T line will appear. The C line should always appear after a sample is applied, which indicates a valid result. By this means, the device can accurately indicate the presence of Leishmania antibodies in the specimen.




 

Test Procedures

1. Remove the test card from the foil pouch and place it flat on a work surface.
2. Transfer 1 drop (using a capillary dropper) of the treated sample into the sample well.
3. Transfer 3 drops (using a disposable dropper) of the assay buffer into the sample well.
4. Start the timer. Wait for 5 to 10 minutes to read the result.

 

 

Interpretation Of Result

- Positive (+): The presence of both "C" line and zone "T" line, no matter T line is clear or vague.
- Negative (-): Only clear C line appear. No T line.
- Invalid: No colored line appears in C zone. No matter if T line appears.
