Principle For Ehrlichia Anaplasma Test
Canine EHR-ANA Ab Combo rapid Test kit is based on the sandwich method of lateral flow immunodissection.The test card has a test window to observe the analysis run and read the results.Before you run the analysis, the test window has an invisible T (test) area and a C (control) area.When the processed sample is applied to each sample hole on the unit, the liquid flows horizontally across the surface of the test strip and reacts with the pre-packaged Eric body and the non-plasma weight group antigen respectively.If there are Eric and no serum antibodies in the specimen, a visible t-line appears.Line C should always appear after the application example, which indicates that the result is valid.
In this way, the device can accurately indicate the presence of Eric and mud-free antibodies in the sample.
SYMPTOMS For Ehrlichia and Anaplasma
Ehrlichia: The clinical symptoms of Ehrlichia infection are variable. Depending on the strain, the dog's immune response and infection with other tick- or flea-borne pathogens. It must be kept in mind that some dogs may not show clinical or laboratory symptoms associated with Ehrlichia infection, and some dogs may show severe signs. Overall, Ehrlichia appears to have more severe clinical symptoms than anaplasmosis. The clinical symptoms of ehrlichiosis vary in form, including nonspecific symptoms such as fever, fatigue, lethargy, anorexia, superficial lymphadenopathy, splenomegaly , hepatomegaly, or weight loss. Other signs have also been described, including vomiting, diarrhea, pain, exercise intolerance, edema (hind limbs, tail, or scrotum), cough and/or dyspnea (with pneumonia), serous or mucopurulent ocular and nasal discharge , miscarriage or neonatal death and skin ulcers. Due to polyarthritis, some researched symptoms include lameness but there is no evidence to support this. The refore, in the case of dogs infected with Ehrlichia, lameness and/or polyarthritis, it is wise to rule out co-infection with other pathogens. Common clinical symptoms of ehrlichiosis include mucous membrane pallor due to anemia, epistaxis, petechiae, petechiae, prolonged bleeding during estrus, thrombocytopenia, thrombocytosis-related hematuria or melena, or vasculitis. The most common are anterior uveitis, corneal opacity, hyphema, tortuous retinal vessels, retinal choroidopathy, subretinal hemorrhage, retinal detachment, or blindness. Neurologic symptoms are less common ( typically secondary meningitis).
Anaplasma phagocytophila: The most common clinical symptoms of Anaplasma phagocytophila are nonspecific and include: lethargy, loss of appetite, anorexia, and fever. Other findings were mucosal pallor, abdominal tension, and gastrointestinal symptoms (vomiting/diarrhea). Lameness may lead to secondary immune-mediated polyarthritis (neutral). Mild lymphadenopathy, shortness of breath, and superficial bleeding (ecchymosis, melena, epistaxis) may occur. Rare symptoms include weakness, mild cough, scleral hyperemia, uveitis, limb edema, polydipsia, and polyuria. Whether symptoms of the central nervous system are associated with this infection has been controversial. There is a correlation between steroid-responsive meningitis/arteritis and phagocytic infection. Anaplasma phagocytophila infection may cause some immune disorders, such as thrombocytopenia, anemia. An enlarged spleen is a common finding on X-rays and ultrasonography.

TEST PROCEDURE For Ehrlichia Anaplasma Test
- Allow all materials, including specimen and test device, recover to 15-25ºC before running the assay.
- Take out the test card from the foil pouch and place it horizontally.
- Collect 20μL of the prepared specimen into a vial of assay buffer and mix well. Then drop 3 drops (approx. 120μL) of the diluted sample into the sample hole "S" of the test card.
- Interpret the result in 5-10 minutes. Result after 10 minutes is considered as invalid.
INTERPRETATION OF RESULTS
- Positive (+): The presence of both "C" line and zone "T" line, no matter T line is clear or vague.
- Negative (-): Only clear C line appear. No T line.
- Invalid: No colored line appears in C zone. No matter if T line appears.
